BOOKS@CONEXION
LIBROS EN CONEXIÓN
These theatrical monologues are produced from the original idea of LIBROSVIVOS (Live Books), an extended literary platform founded by Conexión. In these presentations–with original playwriting inspired by literary works–actors and actresses embody a book, developing a theatrical piece in which the book confesses its feelings, its anecdotes, its relationship with its creator (the author).
Conexion’s Live Books catalog includes:
50 of One Hundred… Reflections of a Book in Solitude
Monologue created for the 50th anniversary of Gabriel García Márquez’s One Hundred Years of Solitude, a foundational book in the Spanish language literature. The actor Rodrigo Murray, with his talent, charisma and theatrical strength, represents the feelings of this great book throughout its five decades of life.
A man in a suit and cape and messy hair.
A theatrical performance in which the actor embodies Confabulario, the emblematic book by the Mexican writer from the state of Jalisco, Juan José Arreola, a monologue produced as part of the Arreola Centennial celebration.
There is a woman who talks to me in my dreams.
A monologue in which actor Emilio Guerrero embodies Alfonso Reyes and is guided in a dreamlike performance by the voice of La Cena (the Dinner), an emblematic tale of Hispanic American literature. The voice of La Cena is interpreted by actress Diana Bracho.

Leonardo
A monologue inspired by Leonardo Da Vinci. A production by Rodrigo Murray, with stage design by the renowned sculptor Sebastián.
VISUAL ARTS
David Bowie in Mexico
Photo Exhibition
During his only visit to Mexico, David Bowie left an invaluable legacy, captured by the lens of photographer Fernando Aceves. The work has become an exhibition of emblematic images that interweaves Bowie in his purest essence with Mexican culture: a journey through the pyramids of Teotihuacan, Frida Kahlo’s Casa Azul (Blue House), and all the way to the Palacio de Bellas Artes (Fine Arts Palace).
